COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Sock Monkey Workshop
30 attendees from the school and 10 members of the community attended this event. This event is connected to the environment because it teaches people how to make use of socks that would otherwise be trash. The teachers and students of MRHS wanted to share this knowledge with the community so they hosted this event.
Volunteering at the Howard County Conservancy (2011-2012 school year)
The Environmental Club and the Future Business Leaders of America at MRHS joined together and volunteered one Saturday morning at the Howard County conservancy on Route 99. Volunteers planted trees, mulched, and weeded the area to preserve the natural environment.

Environmental Science Community Projects (2011-2012 school year)
Ms. Davis's AP environmental science class is did community service projects related to the environment. Two students worked together to make Ms. Davis's website more user-friendly so she will be able to post assignments online rather than printing and handing them out. Another pair of students worked with the distribution of reusable cloth bags.
